Seborrheic Dermatitis

Seborrheic dermatitis is a long-term skin disorder with symptoms that include flaky, scaly, greasy, and occasionally itchy and inflamed skin, most often on areas rich in oil-producing glands such as the scalp, face, and chest. In babies, when the scalp is primarily involved, the condition is called cradle cap, and mild seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp is often described in lay terms as dandruff, though not all dandruff is seborrheic dermatitis. It can also cause social or self-esteem problems for those affected.
