Disseminated disease

Symptoms, Signs and Abnormal Clinical Findings

Disseminated disease is a general term for a condition in which disease has spread through the body from an original, localized site. It can refer to disseminated cancer, meaning the movement of cancerous cells away from the original tumor into other areas of the body, or to disseminated infection, meaning a pathogen has entered the host, grown, and spread in a way that produces illness at sites beyond the original point of entry.
