Progressive disease

A disease or physical ailment whose typical course is a worsening, growth, or spread of the underlying process, potentially continuing until death, serious debility, or organ failure. Some progressive diseases can be halted or reversed with treatment, others only slowed, and some do not respond to any current therapy.
