Clinical endocannabinoid deficiency, abbreviated CECD, is a medical theory proposing that a deficiency in the body's own endocannabinoid signaling underlies the pathophysiology of migraine, fibromyalgia, and irritable bowel syndrome. Under this theory, the deficiency may in some cases begin in the womb as a result of maternal obesity.
