Dyssynergia is any disturbance of muscular coordination that results in uncoordinated and abrupt movements, an aspect of ataxia in which patients tend to split a single movement into several smaller ones. Recognized forms include Ramsay Hunt syndrome type 1, bladder sphincter dyssynergia, and anal sphincter dyssynergia.
