Mellie Uyldert

Mellie Uyldert was a Dutch writer, astrologer, occultist and naturopath who published around thirty popular books on esoteric and alternative-health subjects, together selling more than a million copies. Trained and practicing as a naturopath and alternative healer, she wrote on herbal medicine, health, stones and metals alongside astrology and folklore, consistently framing the relationship between people and the natural world as a path to better wellbeing. She became a well-known public figure in the Netherlands through television appearances in the 1970s and was recognized as a significant contributor to the country's New Age and Theosophical movements. Born 31 May 1908 in Blaricum, she died 10 May 2009 in Bilthoven at the age of one hundred.
