Combination therapy, also called polytherapy, is therapy that uses more than one medication or modality, typically to treat a single disease, often with all the therapies being pharmaceutical. Pharmaceutical combination therapy may be achieved by prescribing or administering separate drugs, or, where available, by using dosage forms that contain more than one active ingredient.
