Inversion Therapy

Physical Rehabilitation Therapy

Inversion therapy, sometimes called simply inversion, is the practice of seeking therapeutic benefit by hanging upside down or at an inverted angle, suspended by the legs, ankles, or feet. It is considered a form of spinal traction. Gravity boots are ankle supports specifically designed to allow a person to perform inversion therapy; the same equipment is also sometimes used by people to add an extra challenge to ordinary workouts, such as performing inverted crunches or squats while suspended.
