A systematic review and meta-analysis of transfemale vaginoplasty, which used 52 studies in its pooled analysis, reported pooled rates for any surgical technique of 1 percent for fistula, 11 percent for stenosis or strictures, 4 percent for tissue necrosis and 3 percent for prolapse. These figures come from that one review of transfemale surgery. They do not describe every kind of vaginoplasty, and they are a record of published results, not medical advice.
