Heart Valve Repair

Surgical Procedure

Heart valve repair is a cardiac surgery procedure carried out to repair one or more faulty heart valves. In many valvular heart diseases, repairing the valve where possible is preferable to replacing it; a mechanical heart valve, used as a replacement, is not itself subject to repair.
