Kinesiotherapy, also called kinesitherapy or kinesiatrics, is literally movement therapy, the therapeutic treatment of disease through passive and active muscular movement, including massage, and through exercise. It is the core element of physiotherapy, and in a number of non-English-speaking countries, including Bulgaria, Lithuania, Belgium, France and Romania, the term kinesiotherapy is used in place of physiotherapy or physical therapy.
