Services that look after a person with a disability, illness or cognitive decline for a time so that the family or other unpaid caregivers can rest, protecting the caregiver's own health and helping the patient stay at home longer. This includes respite care in its in-home, out-of-home, emergency and adult daycare forms. An entry belongs here when its own source describes a service or arrangement for relieving or supporting caregivers. It excludes palliative and hospice care, which is grouped under oncologic therapy, and therapies that treat the patient directly. Each member is a rehabilitative, behavioral or reproductive therapy entry that the atlas covers as a subject in its own right, placed here on what its cited article says it is and how it is used, never on its name alone.
