Animal Vaccination

Animal vaccination is the immunization of a domestic, livestock or wild animal against disease as part of veterinary medicine. The first animal vaccine, developed for chicken cholera, was produced by Louis Pasteur in 1879, and vaccines are now grouped into conventional and next generation types; because vaccinating livestock is considered one of the most cost effective and sustainable ways to control infectious disease, the veterinary vaccine industry was valued at about seven billion dollars in 2017, although animal vaccines are regulated less strictly than vaccines made for people.
