Psoriatic arthritis is a chronic inflammatory form of arthritis that occurs in some people with the skin condition psoriasis. Its hallmark features include inflammation of the joints and of the entheses, the sites where tendons and ligaments attach to bone, along with distinctive swelling of entire fingers or toes known as dactylitis. It most often affects the joints of the limbs, the spine, and the sacroiliac joints, and it frequently involves visible changes to the nails as well.
