Renpenning's syndrome is a neurodevelopmental disorder recognised in males. It causes intellectual disability, mild growth retardation that shows in the size of the testes and head, and a somewhat short stature. The condition affects only males and begins at birth, so it is present from the earliest stage of life rather than appearing later. As a neurodevelopmental condition it is described mainly through its effects on cognitive ability and physical growth, and the lead description of the disorder names intellectual disability as its central feature, with the physical findings being milder and secondary to that.
