Schizoaffective disorder is a mental health condition combining features of schizophrenia, such as hallucinations or delusions, with features of a mood disorder, either major depression or mania, occurring together during an uninterrupted period of illness while also including a period of at least two weeks of psychotic symptoms without prominent mood symptoms. The diagnosis distinguishes the condition from mood disorders with psychotic features, in which psychosis occurs only during mood episodes, and from schizophrenia itself, in which mood episodes are not a dominant, sustained feature.
