Zika Fever

Zika fever is an infectious disease caused by the Zika virus, transmitted primarily through the bite of infected Aedes mosquitoes. Most infections cause mild or no symptoms, which when present can include fever, rash, joint pain, and conjunctivitis. Infection during pregnancy has been associated with microcephaly and other congenital abnormalities in the fetus, a link that spurred international public health concern.
