Adalimumab

Antineoplastic and Immunomodulating Agents

Adalimumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody given by injection, used to dampen immune driven inflammation. ChEMBL records its first approval in 2002 and carries a boxed warning flag, and the WHO Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical Index classifies it as L04AB04, among the tumor necrosis factor alpha inhibitors of the immunosuppressant group. The approved indications recorded for it include psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa, uveitis and arthritis. The World Health Organization Model List of Essential Medicines, 24th list, from 2025, includes it in the complementary list. Several biosimilar versions have been approved since the first, among them products sold under the name Abrilada.
