Mizagliflozin is an inhibitor of the sodium-glucose cotransporter SGLT1 that was developed as a potential treatment for chronic constipation. According to its encyclopedia article it progressed as far as phase II trials in humans but was not approved for medical use, although it has since been investigated for other applications. It is recorded here as an investigational compound, an example of a drug candidate whose original target indication did not lead to approval. This entry is a record of what the source lead states and is not medical advice.
