Petrelintide

Alimentary Tract and Metabolism Agents

Petrelintide, with the development name ZP8396, is an amylin analogue designed to be dosed once a week. Zealand Pharma is developing it for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity. Preclinical data suggest it may work better in combination with semaglutide, and in June 2024 the company reported a Phase 1b trial in which participants lost 8.6 percent of body weight over 16 weeks. In March 2025 Roche entered an exclusive collaboration and licensing agreement with Zealand Pharma to co-develop and co-commercialise it, both alone and in a fixed-dose combination with CT-388, for people who are overweight or obese.
