Zenagamtide, also known as amycretin and by the development code NN 9487, is an experimental weight loss drug being developed by Novo Nordisk. A single molecule acts as both a GLP-1 receptor agonist and an amylin receptor agonist, so it influences appetite regulation and metabolism together, which sets it apart from existing weight loss medications. It is built from two covalently linked peptides, analogs of GLP-1 and amylin. Unlike some competitors it can be taken by mouth, using salcaprozate sodium as a permeation enhancer, and a subcutaneous injection form is being developed in parallel.
