Karl Gottfried Konstantin Dehio (1851 to 1927) was a Baltic German internist and professor of pathology. Born in Reval, he earned his doctorate at the Imperial University of Dorpat in 1877 and continued his studies in Vienna. From 1879 to 1883 he was a physician at the Prince of Oldenburg Children's Hospital in St Petersburg, then returned to Dorpat as a lecturer in 1884, became professor of pathology in 1886 and was chosen university rector in 1918. He edited the Dorpat section of the St Petersburger Medizinische Wochenschrift from 1890 to 1914, presided over the university's naturalists' society and served as vice-president of a society to combat leprosy in Livonia. The atropine test known as Dehio's test is attributed to him: relief of a slow pulse by atropine points to the vagus nerve, and no relief points to the heart itself. His daughter was the writer Else Hueck-Dehio.
