Ferdinand Falkson (1820 to 1900) was a German physician and political writer from Königsberg. He studied at the universities of Königsberg, Berlin and Halle and took his medical degree at Königsberg in 1843, the same year in which he began practising in his native city. In 1844 he was appointed physician to the poor of the Jewish community, a post he held until his death. In 1845 he became engaged to a Christian but could not obtain the permission then needed to marry in his own country, so he went to England and married there in 1846. On his return to Königsberg he was accused of violating the state laws, and the case occupied the courts for three years before Falkson won it in 1849. He remained active in politics and at the time of his death was senior of the chamber of aldermen in Königsberg.
