Robin T. Cotton

Surgeons and Perioperative Specialists

Robin Thomas Cotton, born on 13 May 1941, is an English physician well known for his work in pediatric otolaryngology, the surgery of the ear, nose, throat and airway in children. Born in England, he received his MD from the University of Cambridge in 1966, completed general surgery residency in Birmingham, England, and trained in otolaryngology at the University of Toronto before a head and neck fellowship at the University of Cincinnati in 1973. He then led pediatric otolaryngology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, one of the busiest surgical subspecialty departments there, with around 33,000 outpatient visits and 11,000 procedures a year, and he is now retired as Director of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. He was largely responsible for building its interdisciplinary Aerodigestive and Sleep Center for complex airway disorders, and his honors include the Gabriel F. Tucker Award of the American Laryngological Association in 1995 and the Daniel Drake Medal of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 2012.
