Osteopathy is a pseudoscientific system of alternative medicine that emphasizes physical manipulation of the body muscle tissue and bones. In most countries its practitioners are not medically trained and are referred to as osteopaths, and it is distinct from osteopathic medicine, a branch of the medical profession in the United States whose practitioners are fully licensed physicians.
