Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a comprehensive cancer treatment and research center in the Longwood Medical Area of Boston, Massachusetts, founded in 1947 by pediatric pathologist Sidney Farber, and now a founding member of the Dana-Farber slash Harvard Cancer Center and a principal teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. Designated an NCI comprehensive cancer center, it manages more than one thousand one hundred clinical trials and sees more than six hundred and twenty eight thousand patient visits a year, employing more than eight thousand staff, and by the mid-2020s ranked among the top ten cancer hospitals in the United States. Two Nobel laureates in physiology or medicine have been associated with the institute, which maintains partnerships with other Boston area medical institutions.
