The Ineos Oxford Institute for Antimicrobial Research is a multidisciplinary research institute at the University of Oxford. It was established in January 2021 following a donation of 100 million pounds from INEOS, one of the world's largest manufacturing companies. The institute collaborates across the University of Oxford and far beyond, but is rooted in the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Biology. Its stated aim is to rapidly advance research, education and collaboration in the search for solutions to the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance, which makes it a university research centre rather than a clinic or a hospital.
