Institut Curie

Institut Curie is a private nonprofit foundation in Paris that combines a medical, biological, and biophysical research centre with a specialized hospital, headquartered at 26 rue d'Ulm in the city's fifth arrondissement and operating an additional proton therapy centre in Orsay. Its research spans biophysics, cell biology, and oncology, while its clinical arm runs the Hopital Claudius Regaud, focused on cancer treatment, and it operates one of the world's few proton therapy facilities. The institute traces its founding to the Foundation Curie in 1920, merged with the Institut du Radium in 1970, and has counted six Nobel Prize laureates among researchers affiliated with it, working in collaboration with the French research bodies CNRS and INSERM and as an associate member of Paris Sciences et Lettres University.
