Peking Union Medical College Hospital, also known as Peking Union Hospital or Beijing Xiehe Hospital, is a large public teaching hospital in Beijing, China, affiliated with Peking Union Medical College and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, operating across two campuses, the primary Dongdan Campus in Dongcheng District and a secondary Xidan Campus in Xicheng District. It was founded in 1921 by the Rockefeller Foundation and now maintains around one thousand eight hundred beds with an emergency department, and in 2002 it merged with the Post and Telecommunications General Hospital of the Ministry of Information Industry, expanding into its present form as Peking Union Medical College Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.
