It was established in 2001 by its chairman and chief executive officer, Prem Reddy, and by 2026 it operated 55 hospitals across 15 states of the United States. The company is therefore best understood as a multi-hospital operator whose facilities share one corporate owner and management, rather than as a single hospital, and its place in this atlas is as one of the large private hospital systems that deliver acute care in the American health system.
