Immunologic and Biologic Therapy

Drug therapies built from or acting on the immune system, along with the advanced biologic and gene-based therapies that share the same regulatory and manufacturing category. This includes enzyme replacement therapy, antibody-based treatments such as antivenom and anti-VEGF therapy, biologic drugs for inflammatory disease, gene therapy and stem-cell therapy, and protein replacement therapy. Corticosteroid drugs are placed here when used for their immune-suppressing or anti-inflammatory effect rather than as hormone replacement, which is grouped instead under endocrine and hormone therapy.
