The Wiley Protocol is a form of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy devised and advocated by the author T. S. Wiley, who created and promotes the approach. It is marketed as relieving the symptoms of menopause and improving overall health by recreating a pre-menopausal womans monthly hormonal cycle through rhythmic doses of hormones standardized to a uniform purity. The protocol has drawn significant criticism from physicians, who have challenged it as scientifically unproven and dangerous, citing hormone dosages they consider too high, reported side effects, insufficient clinical trial procedures such as skipping Phase I testing and lacking institutional review board approval, the developers lack of medical credentials, and potential financial conflicts of interest.
