Bioresonance therapy is a pseudoscientific practice, invented in Germany in 1977 by Franz Morell and Erich Rasche, in which practitioners use devices that claim to read and correct a patient's electromagnetic waves to diagnose and treat illness. Practitioners assert they can detect disease and addiction through skin-resistance measurements and treat conditions by stimulating cellular change with the device's output. No reliable scientific evidence supports its claims as either a diagnostic or a therapeutic method, and regulators including the FDA have prosecuted sellers of bioresonance devices for fraudulent health claims.
