Stomach cancer, also called gastric cancer, is a malignant tumor that develops in the lining of the stomach. Most cases are gastric adenocarcinomas, though lymphomas and other tumor types can also arise there. Early stages often produce few or no symptoms, so the disease is frequently diagnosed only after it has grown or spread, at which point symptoms can include abdominal pain, difficulty swallowing, and unintended weight loss.
