American College of Physicians

The American College of Physicians is a Philadelphia based national organization of internal medicine physicians, who specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and care of adults, and with some one hundred and sixty two thousand members it ranks as the largest medical specialty organization and the second largest physician group in the United States. It is one of the two major professional organizations for internal medicine doctors in the country, working to advance both the science and practice of the field and to address the economic, political, and social dimensions of healthcare delivery. The college publishes the Annals of Internal Medicine, among the most widely cited peer reviewed medical journals in the world, and maintains a substantial international presence through tens of thousands of members and dozens of chapters spanning more than a dozen countries.
