All Group and Community-Based Therapies

Interventions delivered through a group, program or care setting rather than a one-to-one therapeutic relationship, where the group, milieu or structured program is itself the active ingredient. This includes group psychotherapy and group therapy broadly, assertive community treatment and milieu therapy delivered through a residential or community team, partial hospitalization as a structured day-program level of care, and addiction and recovery programs organized around peer and community structure such as drug rehabilitation and twelve-step programs. A technique that happens to be delivered in a group format but whose defining mechanism is cognitive, behavioral, expressive or psychodynamic is grouped under that mechanism instead.
