Posthumous sperm retrieval, abbreviated PSR, is a procedure in which spermatozoa are collected from the testes of a human corpse after brain death. The procedure has been the subject of significant debate over its ethics and legality, and over the legal rights of any child born from the retrieved gametes as well as the rights of the surviving parent.
