Juan Carlos Parodi (born August 16, 1942, in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine vascular surgeon and a pioneer of endovascular aortic repair. On 7 September 1990 he performed the first successful endovascular repair of an abdominal aortic aneurysm, in Buenos Aires, and in 1992 he took part in the first minimally invasive aortic aneurysm stent-graft surgery performed in the United States, working with Frank Veith, Michael L. Marin and Claudio J. Schonholz. He later developed a seat belt and air bag technique for cerebral protection during carotid stenting, and has also been active in Argentina as a political advocate for poverty alleviation and education.
