Transcatheter pulmonary valve replacement, also known as percutaneous pulmonary valve implantation, is the replacement of the pulmonary valve by way of catheterization through a vein. It is a minimally invasive alternative to conventional open heart surgery, commonly used to address conditions such as pulmonary atresia and used for congenital defects of the right ventricular outflow tract or a failing artificial valve, with reported successful implantation in ninety-two to ninety-eight percent of cases.
