Injection Lipolysis

Injection lipolysis is a cosmetic procedure in which drug mixtures, typically based on phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate, are injected directly into subcutaneous fat through multiple microinjections over several treatment sessions to destroy fat cells and remove localized fat deposits. The technique evolved from the earlier intravenous use of the same drug formulations to treat blood disorders, and it remains controversial because no placebo-controlled study has established its safety or efficacy, even though numerous retrospective studies of one such formulation, Lipostabil, have reported that it works.
