Gastropexy is a surgical operation in which the stomach is sutured to the abdominal wall or to the diaphragm. When the stomach is sutured to the diaphragm, the operation is sometimes performed as a treatment for gastroesophageal reflux disease, to prevent the stomach from moving up into the chest.
