A Malone antegrade continence enema, also known as an appendicostomy or Malone procedure, is a surgical procedure that creates a continent channel near the abdominal wall through which enemas can be administered to facilitate bowel evacuation. It provides an alternative route for managing fecal continence in patients for whom conventional bowel management is inadequate.
