A responsive neurostimulation device is a medical device that senses changes in a person's body and delivers neurostimulation in response, as a treatment for disease. In the United States the Food and Drug Administration has approved such devices for treating epileptic seizures and chronic pain conditions, and they are under study for other conditions including essential tremor, Parkinson's disease, Tourette syndrome, depression, obesity and post-traumatic stress disorder.
