Epiphysiodesis is a pediatric orthopedic surgical procedure that alters or stops bone growth at the growth plate. It has a temporary form, in which implants can later be removed to let growth resume, and a permanent form that cannot be reversed, and both forms are used to treat a range of pediatric orthopedic growth disorders.
