Facial masculinization surgery is an umbrella term for reconstructive surgical procedures that reshape feminine facial features into a more masculine appearance, performed mainly on trans men. Because masculinizing hormone therapy with testosterone usually grows the facial skull enough on its own for social integration, the surgery is rarely medically indicated and has received comparatively little research attention. Procedures can include chin, cheek, forehead, jaw and Adam's apple augmentation, generally aimed at adding more angular structures to the face.
