Liane Collot d'Herbois

Liane Collot d'Herbois was a British painter who became a leading practitioner of anthroposophical painting therapy, researching how light, darkness and colour could be applied both artistically and therapeutically. She developed a distinctive technique built up from as many as eighty layers of colour and created therapeutic artworks for patients, working alongside medical professionals within anthroposophic medicine settings to use painting as part of treatment for a range of ailments. Her research connected fine-art technique to therapeutic practice, establishing painting therapy as a recognized element of anthroposophic medical care. She lived from 17 December 1907 to 17 September 1999.
