Bian Que

Bian Que was an ancient Chinese physician of the Warring States period, traditionally dated to around 407 to 310 BC, born Qin Yueren, who took the name of an earlier legendary healer. He is traditionally regarded as the earliest known Chinese physician and is credited with a systematic diagnostic method of looking, listening, inquiring and pulse-taking, along with early use of pulse diagnosis and acupuncture. Traditional accounts describe legendary feats such as diagnosing a fatal illness in the Lord of Cai and reviving a prince believed dead through acupuncture, and credit him with the now-lost Bian Que Neijing.
