Canine rehabilitation, also called canine physical therapy, adapts techniques from human physical therapy to restore function and mobility to the joints and muscles of dogs. It is used to reduce pain and support recovery from injury, surgery, degenerative disease, age related decline, and obesity. Although most veterinary practices that offer this kind of physical therapy focus on dogs, the same techniques can also be applied to horses, cats, birds, rabbits, rodents, and other small animals.
