Lateral electrical surface stimulation, or LESS, is a non-invasive treatment for idiopathic scoliosis developed by Dr. Jens Axelgaard in 1976. Electrodes placed on the convex side of the spine deliver neuromuscular stimulation during sleep, contracting the back muscles to gradually straighten the curve, and the method has been used as an alternative or complement to bracing for mild to moderate cases.
