Nerve glide, also called nerve flossing or nerve stretching, is an exercise that stretches nerves to encourage the smooth, regular movement of peripheral nerves in the body, letting a nerve glide freely along with the movement of a joint and relax it from compression. It is widely used in rehabilitation programs and during post-surgical recovery, most often for the radial, median, sciatic and ulnar nerves, and is commonly prescribed for conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome and radial neuropathy; it is not used on nerves that are actively injured or inflamed.
